Metabo Offers Cost-effective Bare Tool Option for Popular PowerMasterSeries Tools
Metabo Corporation now offers six of its popular 18 V PowerMasterSeries cordless power tools for purchase without the battery.
WEST CHESTER, PA, October 26, 2011 /HiTech PR News/ -- Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, now offers six of its popular 18 V PowerMasterSeries cordless power tools for purchase without the battery. Because the batteries are interchangeable among the tools, operators can now carry additional tools without the need for several extra batteries.
The BHA18 rotary hammer, SB18 LTX hammer drill/driver, SSD18 impact driver, SSW18 impact wrench, STA18 cordless jig saw and the W18LTX cordless angle grinder are all powered by Metabo's 18 V, 3.0 Ah Li-Power Extreme batteries, which can be shared by all six tools.
Metabo's lithium-ion batteries offer 40 percent higher performance and 40 percent less weight than conventional batteries, as well as 30 percent faster charging and increased service life of up to 1,500 charges. They are compatible with Metabo's ASC30 30- minute air-cooled charger.
Metabo product manager, Terry Tuerk, noted, "We kept hearing about the longevity of our batteries on a single charge and how quickly you could reuse them with our 30-minute charger. We figured contractors and operators could just as easily have a bare tool on hand, rather than a battery for each; they typically have enough equipment to carry. It's a good way to save money when buying new tools, as well."
All the cordless tools in Metabo's PowerMasterSeries feature advanced ergonomics with the performance and capacity advantages of lithium-ion batteries, making them ideal for a variety of construction and related jobs, including electricians, contractors, remodelers, cable installers, HVAC technicians, joiners and fitters.
Each battery features Metabo's state-of-the-art cell monitoring concept, Electronic Single Cell Protection (ESCP), that electronically monitors the individual cells during the charging and discharging process to prevent damage as well as prolong battery life. The batteries and chargers are covered by Metabo's 3-year lithium-ion warranty; if the battery fails to take a charge, or the charger fails in the first 3 years of ownership, they will be replaced, no charge.
The BHA 18 rotary hammer features a compact, ergonomic design ideal for those who work overhead or in close quarters. The tool is equipped with electronic variable speed control, a forward-reverse switch, Metabo's unique Quick change SDS chuck system and an anti-vibration side handle.
The SB18 LTX hammer drill/driver is designed for rugged industrial and commercial applications that require a reliable, high-performance and long-lasting cordless power tool. The hammer drill/driver features Metabo's unique 'Precision Stop' clutch that stops the tool when the desired torque level is reached preventing overdrive of screws, allowing for more precise fastening.
The SSD18 impact driver produces up to 1,416 in/lbs. of torque and features up to 2,650 rpm and 3,300 blows per minute in three speed ranges for optimum driving capacity in a wide range of materials. The SSD18 includes a 1/4" hex quick change bit retainer, forward and reverse operation and an LED that is focused on the work space.
The SSW18 1/2" impact wrench produces up to 1,947 in/lbs. of torque and features superior tool ergonomics and a compact cordless design. The tool's light-weight, pistol-grip and readily accessible trigger button make reaching the tightest spaces easy and less tiresome.
The STA18 jig saw features a quick toolless blade change, 4-stage orbital blade stroke and an LED that illuminates the cut line. The tool features positive bevel cutting stops at 15°, 30° and 45°.
The W18LTX cordless angle grinder features a robust, full cage 4-pole motor with easily replaceable carbon brushes, and removable dust filter. It has a no-load speed of 8,000 rpm, electronic overload protection and electronic safety lock out as well as a battery pack that can pivot to 4 different positions.
